Industry partner since 1992

In over 33 years, MONTEC has developed into a high-performance industrial service provider, a partner to many well-known companies of various sizes and industries.

Founded in Augsburg in 1992, MONTEC is now one of the leading industrial service providers in southern Germany.

In the early years, the primary focus was on relocating textile machines to Asia, but today we can count all industrial and construction sectors among our customers.

After just a few years, MONTEC had gained a great deal of experience in relocating large plants around the globe.

More and more, companies from mechanical engineering, aerospace, and the food industry have relied on our expertise with sensitive and complex systems. As a result, the service was quickly extended to other branches of industry and medium-sized businesses.

Constant investments in the latest vehicles, special equipment, buildings and the qualification of employees were trend-setting for the success and quality.

After the company was handed over by the two managing directors Ulrich Schmid and Michael de Buhr in 2011, the course was quickly set for further strategic expansion. The merging of the workshop, warehouse and office space into a modern company premises was necessary in order to be able to represent further growth.

Ulrich Schmid was the technical director of MONTEC from 2000. The specialist for complex, difficult assembly and construction projects has supervised and managed spectacular customer projects all over the world. He regularly proves his expertise in heavy-duty assembly.

After many years of working in various banks in southern Germany, Michael de Buhr also joined the company as managing partner. The banker and lawyer heads the commercial department of the company and always keeps an eye on the figures.

The decision quickly fell on Asbach-Bäumenheim in the Swabian Donau-Ries region.

The perfect transport connections and the central location in one of the economically strongest regions in Germany were decisive for the decision.

New standards in quality,
safety and technology

The modern warehouse and office buildings have been located in Asbach-Bäumenheim since 2014.

Since 2019, in addition to ISO 9001 in quality management, MONTEC has also been certified according to DIN EN ISO 45001. The global standard in occupational health, safety and environmental protection ensures that all legal and industry-standard standards are met.
Further investments were made in equipment and employees.

In addition to the purchase of an additional truck, an investment was made in a heavy-duty forklift from the US brand HOIST Material Handling. The pick-and-carry device is perfect for in-house relocation of machine tools as well as their installation and removal. The ability to remotely control the entire device, including the load, ensures safety for people and machines as well as absolute precision.

Despite the pandemic from 2020, MONTEC continued to grow and was always in action as an important partner for our customers at home and abroad. Above all, the strong growth in the medical industry and the restructuring in many companies continued to ensure full order books. Together with our customers and employees, we were able to get through this time very well.

Since 2023, Philip de Buhr has complemented the management of MONTEC. After many years of working with customers and then as a project manager for machine transports and system assembly, he is the third managing partner.

MONTEC made another quantum leap in terms of special equipment at the beginning of 2024 with the purchase of a Palfinger PCC 115.002. The special crane from the Austrian manufacturer is extremely flexible in its possible applications and guarantees fast, safe lifting operations and assembly in difficult terrain.
